Main Features
Anhui Zhonghang Nano produces nano magnesium hydroxide using special processes and nano-membrane purification technology. The product features high whiteness, pure crystal phase, low magnetic and metallic impurities (≤50ppb), low moisture content, and stable chemical properties. With small particle size, large specific surface area, and high activity, it is applied in lithium manganate, lithium cobaltate, and lithium iron phosphate. Nano magnesium hydroxide is also used as an antacid, adsorbent, electrical insulating material, and filtering material.
Application Fields
1. Additive for high-capacity tin composite anode materials in lithium-ion batteries. Insoluble solid particles such as SiO₂, TiO₂, ZrO₂, Cr₂O₃, Fe₂O₃, CeO₂, MgO, SiC, BaSO₄ with diameters between 0.05-10 micrometers are added at 10-100g/L. The resulting nickel-solid particle-tin composite anode material exhibits high specific capacity, high charge-discharge efficiency, and stable cycling performance.
2. Cathode material for lithium batteries. Nano magnesium hydroxide serves as a conductive dopant to produce magnesium-doped lithium iron manganese phosphate via solid-state reaction, further forming nanostructured cathode material with conductivity up to 10⁻²S/cm and actual discharge capacity of 240mAh/g. This new cathode material is low-cost, high-energy, and safe, suitable for small and medium polymer, colloidal, and liquid lithium-ion batteries, especially for high-power batteries.
3. Coating for cathode active materials in rechargeable lithium batteries. Adding a certain amount of nano magnesium hydroxide and metal oxides like alumina forms a coating with fracture toughness of at least MPa·m¹/².
4. Enhancing capacity and cycling performance of spinel lithium manganate batteries. Nano magnesium oxide is added as a deacidifier to the electrolyte of lithium-ion batteries with spinel lithium manganate cathode, at % of electrolyte weight. This reduces free acid HF content to below 20ppm, mitigating HF dissolution of LiMn₂O₄ and improving its capacity and cycling performance.
5. Nano magnesium hydroxide as a pH adjuster in alkaline solution, combined with ammonia as a complexing agent, is added to a mixed aqueous solution containing cobalt and nickel salts to precipitate Ni-Co composite hydroxide. (b) Lithium hydroxide is added to the composite hydroxide, and the mixture is heat-treated at 280-420°C. (c) The product from step (b) is heat-treated at 650-750°C. The average particle size of the lithium composite oxide decreases or the bulk density increases with co-precipitation time. When used as anode active material, it enables high-capacity lithium-ion secondary batteries. Nano magnesium oxide addition is around %.
6. Polishing of glassy carbon electrode materials. Typically, emery, cerium oxide, zirconium oxide, nano magnesium oxide, and alumina are used sequentially in order of decreasing abrasive particle size. The resulting glassy carbon electrode features high conductivity, chemical stability, gas impermeability, high purity, low cost, low hydrogen and oxygen overpotentials, and easy surface regeneration, making it widely applicable.
Packaging and Storage
This product is packaged in heat-sealed aluminized bags. It should be stored sealed in a dry, cool environment, not exposed to air for extended periods to prevent moisture-induced agglomeration, which affects dispersion performance and usage.
